Maruti is soon going to launch the new Baleno facelift in India on September 5, 2026. Just days ahead of its launch, the brand has silently increased the prices of the select variants of the current model. The new price hike has made the Baleno up to Rs 30,000 more expensive than the previous price list.
As per the details, the Alpha petrol MT and Alpha petrol AMT variants have undergone the biggest hike of Rs 30,000 each. The Zeta trim has received a price hike of Rs 15,000, including the petrol MT, petrol AMT, and CNG powertrains. Meanwhile, the Delta trim has witnessed a price hike of Rs 7,500, including the petrol MT, petrol AMT, and CNG powertrains. However, the base variant Sigma prices remain unaltered, i.e. Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mind you, the brand will launch the new Baleno facelift next month. The facelift will bring a big change under the bonnet, as online reports hint that the current 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will be replaced by the Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder motor from the Swift. Moreover, the good news is that the Baleno facelift will also bring along a CNG+AMT gearbox combination, thus making it the first Maruti car with this powertrain option.
With that said, the price revision of the current model might not make sense to customers. But this price hike helps in launching the new model without any big price change, which makes it look affordable. So, this is a marketing and pricing strategy that most of the car manufacturers have started to follow lately in India, especially with the facelift model launches.
