Alongside Ather, Ola has also introduced a new electric scooter this weekend in India. The new S1Z electric scooter is now available in two versions with a starting price of 79,999. It features the Bharat Cell LFP battery cells, which are manufactured in-house by Ola.
Ola S1Z: Everything you need to know before buying it
The new S1Z scooter adds to Ola’s S1 range. It is priced from Rs 79,999 for the 3.1 kWh variant, while the bigger 5.1 kWh battery variant goes up to Rs 99,999, both ex-showroom.
Speaking of the powertrain details, the 3.1 kWh battery version offers an IDC-claimed range of 179 km, while it takes 5 hours and 42 minutes to charge. Meanwhile, the bigger 5.1 kWh battery version offers a massive 301 km of IDC-claimed range, which is substantially higher than its latest rival, Ather Konarc. The latter has been launched today, and its S-line variant offers a maximum range of 200 km.
In terms of performance, the S1Z can sprint from 0 to 40 km/h in 4.9 seconds on the 3.1 kWh variant and 4.6 seconds on the 5.1 kWh variant. Both variants come equipped with a 4 kW hub-mounted electric motor.
The styling of the S1Z is identical to the S1 range. It packs minimal body panels with simple curves and creases, which are accentuated by the LED lights and bright colour combinations. Both variants of the S1Z are equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD instrument console that shows battery health, speed, time, and trip telemetry.
The connected features include geofencing and a live location monitor. Additionally, it features cruise control and reverse gear, along with the latest Ola Move OS5 software, which is also compliant with OTA (over-the-air) future updates.
Ola has started accepting reservations for the S1Z. Deliveries will begin from December 2026 for the 3.1 kWh variant, while the 5.1 kWh variant will be available in March 2027.
