Kawasaki has launched the MY27 Versys 1100 in India at Rs 13.89 lakh, ex-showroom. Positioned as a long-distance adventure tourer, the updated Versys 1100 combines a litre-class inline-four engine with touring-focused ergonomics, electronic rider aids and long-travel suspension.
Powertrain
The motorcycle continues with a 1,099 cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine producing 135 PS at 9,000 rpm and 112 Nm at 7,600 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Kawasaki has made revisions to the engine and gearing, including longer fifth and sixth gears, with the changes aimed at improving highway performance and fuel efficiency.
Equipment and features
The Versys 1100 uses an aluminium twin-tube frame with the engine acting as a stressed member. Suspension duties are handled by a 43 mm inverted front fork and Horizontal Back-link rear shock, offering 150mm and 152 mm of travel respectively. Braking is handled by dual 310mm front discs with four-piston radial monobloc calipers and a 260mm rear disc.
Kawasaki has equipped the MY27 model with a comprehensive electronics package. This includes three-mode Kawasaki Traction Control, Kawasaki Intelligent ABS, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, selectable power modes and cruise control. The Kawasaki Quick Shifter can now be used from a lower 1,500 rpm, making it more useful during everyday riding and touring.
The motorcycle retains its touring-focused equipment, including an adjustable windscreen, while a USB Type-C port on the handlebar and a 12V socket add convenience for riders covering long distances. The instrument console also provides information including lean angle and other riding parameters.
Colours and availability
Kawasaki is offering the MY27 Versys 1100 in Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray and Metallic Diablo Black. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from mid-September 2026.
The company is positioning the Versys 1100 around the idea of “Destination: Everywhere”, highlighting its combination of performance, comfort and long-distance touring capability.
