Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the Hayabusa Special Edition at Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), adding exclusive styling elements and electronic refinements to its flagship superbike. Alongside the special edition, the standard Hayabusa range has also been refreshed with three new colour options.
What is special?
The Special Edition is finished in an exclusive Pearl Vigor Blue shade and gets a set of visual changes to distinguish it from the standard motorcycle. These include special decals, a unique wheel finish, a 3D Suzuki fuel tank emblem and a Special Edition emblem on the tank.
Suzuki has also added anodised muffler-end and heat-guard components, while a single-seat cowl comes as standard. These changes are primarily focused on giving the Hayabusa a more exclusive appearance rather than altering its core mechanical package.
The standard Hayabusa is now available in three new colour combinations: Candy Daring Red/Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Galaxy Gray/Candy Burnt Gold and Pearl Vigor Blue/Pearl Brilliant White.
Hayabusa gets electronic and battery updates
Both the Special Edition and updated standard Hayabusa receive a new ELIIY Power lithium-ion battery. It is lighter and more compact while offering more stable voltage under load.
Suzuki has also revised the Launch Control System and Power Mode Selector. More significantly, the Smart Cruise Control now remains active during gear shifts, allowing the rider to maintain the selected cruising speed without keeping the throttle open.
Same powertrain
The Hayabusa continues with its 1,340 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected inline-four DOHC engine. The engine produces 190 PS of power and 150 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. It gets a twin-spar aluminium frame, adjustable KYB inverted forks, Bridgestone BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S22 tyres and Brembo Stylema front callipers with twin 320 mm discs.
Other electronic aids include Motion Track Traction Control, bi-directional quickshifter, Suzuki Easy Start, Low RPM Assist and Slope Dependent Control.
The standard Hayabusa is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh, while the Special Edition costs Rs 19.90 lakh, making the latter Rs 91,000 more expensive. Both are now available through Suzuki dealerships across India.
