Hero MotoCorp has released a new teaser video of the upcoming Xtreme 160R motorcycle. The entry-level sports bike is likely to get a mild makeover with new feature add-ons and updated colourways ahead of the festive season to boost sales.
2026 Hero Xtreme 160R: What to expect?
Recently, Hero Xtreme 160R’s closest rival, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, received a mild upgrade with new features to lure buyers ahead of the festive season this year. Now, Hero has shared an online teaser video of the upcoming Xtreme 160R, which is likely to get meaningful feature updates and probably new cosmetic tweaks.
While the teaser video does not show a lot of details, a quick glimpse of the rear section shows a new tyre hugger, which is a thoughtful addition, as the Xtreme 160R is preferred by buyers as a commuter-cum-sports motorcycle. The addition of a tyre hugger will keep the pillion and rider safe from slush and water splashes, especially during monsoon season.
As per our expectations, Hero will most likely add a new TFT instrument console on the new Xtreme 160R. The reason behind this is that TVS has also added the same on the Apache RTR 160, and every other competitor is offering this as standard now. Even Bajaj launched the new Pulsar range with the 5-inch TFT screen. Therefore, the new Xtreme 160R will probably get the TFT console, and the following features like Bluetooth connectivity, Google Maps mirroring, ride and traction modes, etc.
Since it will be a mid-life update, we believe that the 163.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine will remain unchanged. The current model makes 16.9 PS and 14.6 Nm, while being paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The 2026 Xtreme 160R is expected to be launched before October end, and it will be priced around the same figure as the current model.
