Bajaj Pulsar NS200 gets a major tech upgrade with TFT display and quickshifter

Key highlights

  • Updated Pulsar NS200 gets a 5-inch TFT display with Google Maps mirroring
  • New features include a quickshifter, traction control and four riding modes
  • Power is listed at 25.5 hp, while the price is expected to rise from the current Rs 1.48 lakh

Bajaj Auto is preparing a substantial update for the Pulsar NS200, with dealer-level information revealing new electronics, additional convenience features and a fresh colour option. The updated motorcycle has reportedly started reaching dealerships, although Bajaj has yet to officially announce its launch date, final specifications or pricing.

The changes bring the NS200 closer to the feature set of the larger Pulsar NS400Z. A quickshifter, traction control and multiple riding modes could make the 200cc streetfighter a more compelling option for riders seeking performance without moving to a larger motorcycle.

TFT display and new electronic features

The most visible change is a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with Google Maps mirroring. The display is expected to support smartphone connectivity and navigation, with revised handlebar switchgear allowing riders to navigate its functions.

The updated NS200 is also listed with a quickshifter, traction control, an electronic throttle body and four riding modes. The quickshifter should make gear changes more convenient during spirited riding, although it remains unclear whether it will support both upshifts and downshifts.

Other listed additions include a USB Type-C charging port, hazard switch, panic brake alert and adjustable levers. The precise functioning of the riding modes and the extent of lever adjustment have not been confirmed.

More power and a new colour

The motorcycle’s listed power output has increased from 24.5hp to 25.5hp. The existing 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and produces 18.74Nm in its current specification. Bajaj has not yet confirmed whether the updated version receives any other mechanical changes.

The familiar muscular streetfighter design and split-seat layout remain. A new Nardo Grey finish with black accents, red graphics and red alloy wheels gives the updated motorcycle a more distinctive appearance.

The 37mm upside-down front forks appear to be carried over from the recently spotted version, while radial tyres are another reported addition. However, it is not yet clear whether radial tyres will be fitted to both wheels or only the rear.

Price and launch details

The current Pulsar NS200 with USD forks is priced at around Rs 1.48 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the additional equipment, the updated model is expected to command a premium, although the final price remains unannounced.
