TVS Raider 125 gets traction control, prices start at Rs 1 lakh

Key highlights

  • TVS Raider 125 gets traction control on the SXC DD and TFT DD variants.
  • Other additions include a wider rear tyre, emergency brake warning and a 27W USB Type-C charger.
  • Prices start at Rs 1,00,330 for the SXC DD and Rs 1,03,170 for the TFT DD, ex-showroom Delhi.

TVS Motor Company has updated the Raider 125 with new safety and convenience features. The update is limited to the SXC DD and TFT DD variants, while the motorcycle’s styling and engine remain unchanged. The additions give TVS’s sporty commuter an equipment upgrade in a segment where manufacturers are increasingly using technology to distinguish their offerings.

What’s new?

The biggest addition is a traction control system, which helps limit rear-wheel slip when the tyre loses grip on slippery roads or loose surfaces such as gravel. It can be useful when accelerating over wet patches or uneven stretches, although it cannot compensate for excessive speed or poor riding technique.

The updated Raider also gets a wider 120/70-17 rear tyre, replacing the earlier 110/80-17 unit. The larger tyre is intended to improve grip and stability.

Another addition is Emergency Brake Warning. When the rider brakes suddenly, the system activates the hazard lights to alert traffic approaching from behind. TVS has also replaced the previous 12W USB-A charging port with a 27W USB Type-C charger, which should charge compatible devices faster.

Prices and variants

Variant

Raider SXC DD

Rs 1,00,330

Raider TFT DD

Both updated variants are available through TVS dealerships across India. The dual-disc braking setup with single-channel ABS remains exclusive to these higher-spec versions.

Engine and performance

Power continues to come from the 124.8 cc, three-valve, single-cylinder engine producing 11.2 hp and 11.75 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a five-speed gearbox and retains TVS’s iGO Assist technology.

The Raider also continues to offer connected features, including smartphone connectivity on the TFT-equipped variant. There are no reported styling changes as part of this update.

The motorcycle competes with options such as the Hero Xtreme 125R, Bajaj Pulsar N125 and Honda CB125 Hornet.
