Renault has launched the much-anticipated Duster Hybrid in India at a starting price of Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the most fuel-efficient hybrid SUV in the segment, offering up to 1,400 km of range on a full tank of fuel.

First things first, the new Duster Hybrid is available in three variants with their ex-showroom prices as follows:
- Evolution – Rs 16.99 lakh
- Techno – Rs 18.99 lakh
- Emotion – Rs 19.49 lakh
Renault Duster Hybrid: Engine specs, mileage, performance
The Duster Hybrid is powered by a 1.8-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, called E-Tech 160 Hybrid. This powertrain is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a 1.4 kWh battery pack, powering the front wheels. The Duster Hybrid offers 158 bhp and 208 Nm, while the official ARAI-claimed fuel economy stands at 29 km/l – 1.03 km/l more than the previous segment leaders, the Toyota Hyryder Hybrid and Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid.
The Duster Hybrid is no slouch, as it can go from 0-100 km/h in 9.6 seconds. It is equipped with a 50-litre fuel tank, which can theoretically give it a range of 1,400 km on a full tank of fuel. Additionally, Renault claims that the Duster Hybrid can drive up to 80 percent in the city on pure electric power. The brand also claims that it can reduce petrol costs by up to 40 percent as compared to other petrol cars in the segment.
What are the visual changes?
The Duster Hybrid is nearly identical to the standard Duster with turbo petrol engine options. The only differentiating visual changes are the illuminated Duster lettering on the front and the new brown-black interior dual-tone theme. Speaking of the warranty, Renault is offering an industry-first 7-year warranty on the car and an 8-year/1,60,000 km warranty for the battery.
