Hero has commenced bookings of the new Xtreme 250R from October 17, 2026, and deliveries are scheduled from November 1, 2026.

2026 Hero Xtreme 250R: Everything to know before buying it

The new Xtreme 250R has broken cover in India. The updated streetfighter is priced at Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom), and it is available in three colours: Carbon Black, Carbon Red, and Carbon White. The 2026 Xtreme 250R will be exclusively sold through Hero Premia dealerships nationwide.

Visually, the new Xtreme 250R gets new carbon-fibre hydro-dipped panels. Hero claims to have made over 50 changes to improve the fit and finish of the new bike. These include the new body panels, a carbon-fibre-inspired look, a swingarm cover, braided cables, and improved component finishing for a better overall experience. Other visual changes include painted alloys with rim tapes, new graphics, and embossed detailing.

The list of features and smart technology has been improved as well. The new Xtreme 250R now packs cruise control and 4 ride modes (Rain, Road, Sport, Track), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and India’s first mechanical Frequency Selective Damper (FDS) rear monoshock. The latter uses another piston that can be mechanically adjusted to provide two rebound damping settings as per the road undulations.

For tech lovers, Hero has added a new coloured TFT instrument console that offers Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and displays turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, music controls, gear position indicator, real-time fuel economy, instantaneous fuel economy, ride modes, etc. The new Xtreme 250R now also gets cruise control for easy highway touring.

Powering the 2026 Xtreme 250R is the same 249cc liquid-cooled motor carried over from the previous model. This engine offers 29 bhp and 25.3 Nm, while being paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The new Xtreme 250R can sprint 0-60 km/h in 3.2 seconds, making it the quickest bike in the segment.
