- Tesla Model Y and Model Y L get the Halloween Mode update
- OTA update is free for every owner
- Features special lighting effects, spooky sounds, and Halloween-inspired graphics
Tesla has released a new Halloween Mode in India for all owners to experience the special lighting effects, spooky sounds, ghost-themed graphics, and more, on the occasion of Halloween 2026. The Halloween Mode has been rolled out remotely via an OTA (over-the-air) update. This update is free for all Model Y and Model Y L owners in India, and it does not require the owners to visit the service centre.
Speaking of the special effects, the new Trick or Treat Mode now allows an interactive Halloween display when visitors approach the vehicle. After its activation, the car uses its exterior lighting and speakers to create a dramatic effect by playing spooky sounds and flashing the lights. Additionally, a special “Signature Light Show” has been added as part of the update, which plays a light show designed with a Halloween theme. This play includes the new light patterns being played along with the Halloween-themed wraps and a seasonal lock sound.
Meanwhile, another feature is called “Ghost Costume”, which changes the vehicle’s avatar in the Tesla app. The standard Model Y features a ghost-themed appearance for the Halloween period. Additionally, a Photobooth experience has also been added that features a camera-based feature which is specifically made for Halloween photographs from the vehicle.
Also, the Voice From Beyond feature lets the user speak through the Tesla app and send a message through the vehicle. The vehicle reproduces the message in its own distinctive voice, giving owners another interactive function. Tesla owners can try the Halloween Mode on their cars in India by visiting Tesla locations countrywide.
