Suzuki SV-7S unveiled at EICMA 2026

Key highlights

  • Suzuki has unveiled the new SV-7S at EICMA 2026, reviving its familiar middleweight V-twin roadster formula.
  • It gets the updated 645cc, 90-degree V-twin engine producing 73.4hp and 64Nm.
  • Ride-by-wire, three riding modes, traction control, a bidirectional quickshifter and a 4.2-inch TFT display are among the key upgrades.

Meet the SV-7S, unveiled at EICMA 2026. It retains the mechanical character that made the SV650 popular, but gets a much-needed technology upgrade.

Powertrain

At the heart of the SV-7S is the familiar 645 cc, liquid-cooled, 90-degree V-twin engine that has powered the SV family since 1999. For the SV-7S, the engine produces 73.4 PS at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm at 6,800rpm. It gets electronic throttle bodies, a revised airbox and a new 2-into-1 exhaust system. The updated setup also allows it to comply with Euro 5+ emission norms.

The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. While the basic mechanical recipe remains familiar, the addition of electronic throttle control makes a significant difference to the motorcycle’s capabilities.

Modern electronics

This is where the SV-7S gets interesting. Suzuki has equipped it with the Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.), which brings three riding modes, three-level traction control with an option to switch it off, and a bi-directional quickshifter.

Another addition is a 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity through Suzuki Ride Connect+. It supports turn-by-turn navigation, call and message notifications, weather updates and traffic alerts.

Styling and hardware

Unlike the crossover-style SV-7GX, the SV-7S sticks to a traditional naked roadster silhouette. It gets a round LED headlamp, an exposed steel trellis frame, a sculpted fuel tank and relatively slim bodywork.

Suspension duties are handled by a 41 mm telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock with seven-step preload adjustment. Braking comes from twin 290mm front discs with four-piston callipers and a 240mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS.

The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Dunlop Roadsmart III tyres. It has a seat height of 785 mm and a kerb weight of 200 kg. The fuel tank has a capacity of 14 litres.

Suzuki will offer the SV-7S in three colour options: Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue, Glass Sparkle Black and Mat Sword Silver.

India launch remains unconfirmed

Suzuki has not announced pricing or market-specific availability for the SV-7S yet. There is also no confirmation of an India launch at this stage.

If introduced here, the motorcycle could sit in an interesting position in the middleweight naked segment, although its eventual pricing would be crucial in determining how it fares against established rivals.
