Norton has taken the wraps off the 450 Urban at EICMA 2026, marking its return to the single-cylinder motorcycle segment under TVS ownership. The new roadster will be the entry point into Norton’s growing line-up and will be offered in two versions: a standard road-focused model and a more rugged, scrambler-inspired variant.
The motorcycle is particularly significant for the brand as it takes Norton’s design and engineering approach into a more accessible capacity segment. It will also be the first single-cylinder Norton since the company’s resurgence.
Powertrain
Power comes from a new 454 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that develops 47 hp at 8,000 rpm and 45 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a quickshifter.
Norton says the engine has been tuned to deliver linear acceleration and strong in-gear response, with useful torque available lower down the rev range. The company is also targeting a kerb weight of under 180 kg, which should make the 450 Urban reasonably agile for its class.
Both versions use an aluminium frame, a fully adjustable 43mm KYB upside-down fork and a KYB monoshock with rebound and preload adjustment. Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, with ByBre hardware and cornering ABS. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch cast wheels.
Two variants, extensive electronics
The two versions share their mechanical package, with the differences largely limited to styling and equipment details.
The standard model gets silver wheels, a silver frame and road-focused tyres. The scrambler-styled version adds black wheels, a grey frame and swingarm, extended mudguards, knuckle guards, fork protectors, a flyscreen and distinctive seat trim.
Both get dynamic LED headlights, three riding modes, traction control, cruise control, keyless ignition and heated grips. An 8-inch TFT touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, USB-C charging and a tyre pressure monitoring system round off the equipment list.
India launch
Norton has not announced pricing or a specific launch date yet. However, the 450 Urban is expected to arrive in India and international markets simultaneously in the second half of 2027.
