Key highlights

  • Volkswagen Virtus facelift exterior images released
  • Gets new bumpers and new alloy wheels
  • India launch is expected during the upcoming festive season

Volkswagen has released the official exterior images of the upcoming Virtus facelift sedan. The new facelifted model will be launched in India in the coming days during the festive season. It will offer subtle yet meaningful upgrades to the Virtus, which has been long overdue for an update since its launch in June 2022.

Volkswagen Virtus facelift: Exterior details

The official images released ahead of the launch show us the subtle exterior changes on the new Virtus facelift. The fascia now features a redesigned bumper with the new fog light housings, a new honeycomb maze pattern lower grille finished in black colour, and the new projector LED fog lights that have replaced the outgoing halogen units for improved illumination.

The specific unit that has been revealed in the photos is a ‘GT’ variant. Hence, it features the new 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels painted in a gloss black shade, along with the red coloured brake callipers and red coloured ‘GT’ badge on the front doors.

Meanwhile, the rear profile has also received a subtle upgrade. The rear bumper is now redesigned with a more streamlined diamond-like pattern on the lower part. The rest of the design traits have been kept as they are to retain the originality of the design.

The interior details are yet to be revealed. However, we suspect that it will get similar changes to the new Skoda Slavia facelift. These are likely to include a new central infotainment screen with updated software, a new 10.25-inch digital driver console, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and more.

Under the bonnet, the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI engine options will continue to be offered as they are. However, the 6-speed AT gearbox on the 1.0 TSI engine will be replaced by an all-new 8-speed AT gearbox sourced from AISIN.

The new Virtus facelift could receive a slight revision to its price. However, the hike will be marginal.
