All-new Kia Seltos breaks cover with bigger size and bolder design

Key highlights

  • Kia reveals the new Seltos globally from India with a complete redesign and a longer, wider body.
  • Gets a massive 30-inch panoramic display, smarter tech, more safety and multiple new features.
  • Built on the new K3 platform with updated engines and a wide spread of variants.

Kia has pulled the wraps off the all-new Seltos. This is a full redesign including a new platform. Bigger body, bolder styling, smarter cabin, more equipment and enough engine and gearbox options. The new Seltos has been unveiled globally from India, which shows how important this SUV has become for the brand.

A larger Seltos with a stronger stance

The new Seltos grows to 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width, making it the largest SUV in its segment. The wheelbase stays at 2,690 mm, but the visual bulk is unmistakable. The design is sharper, more muscular and clearly inspired by the Opposites United direction we’ve seen on new-age Kia models.

The front fascia gets a new digital Tiger Face with a dark gunmetal grille. Ice Cube LED headlamps, star-map DRLs and bold LED tail-lamps give it a premium flash. Even the door handles have gone futuristic with automatic streamline units. Kia will offer 10 colours, including Morning Haze and Magma Red, which are likely to be the poster shades here.

Interior: now properly premium

Inside, the new Seltos is a massive step up. The cabin layout now revolves around a 30-inch Trinity panoramic screen setup that merges the digital cluster and infotainment. The interior uses a smoked black and white theme with leatherette seats and premium bright accents.

The feature list has grown nicely too. A 10-way powered driver seat with power lumbar and relaxation mode, ventilated seats, memory function, ambient lighting, Bose 8-speaker setup, sunshade curtains, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, wireless charging and connected car tech. Kia has clearly ticked off every modern SUV checklist item and then added a few extras for bragging rights.

Tech and connected features

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have finally made the cut in the top variants too. Kia Connect 2.0 offers OTA updates, remote controls and even built-in diagnostics. The Smart Key proximity unlock feature sounds like a small thing, but anyone who has ever fumbled for keys in a parking lot will appreciate it especially with those flush door handles.

New platform, stronger safety

The new Seltos sits on Kia’s updated global K3 platform, which brings improved strength, better crash protection and better NVH.

Safety gets a strong push with a 24-feature standard pack including 6 airbags, ESC, hill-start assist, rollover sensors and rear occupant alert. The SUV now offers Level 2 ADAS with 21 functions including forward collision warning, adaptive cruise with stop-and-go, lane keep assist and blind view monitoring. This is the kind of safety suite you typically expect in SUVs one or two segments higher.

Engines, variants and options

There are three engines:

  • 1.5 NA petrol (115 PS, 144 Nm)
  • 1.5 turbo petrol (160 PS, 253 Nm)
  • 1.5 diesel (116 PS, 250 Nm)

The transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, CVT, 7-DCT and a 6-speed AT for the diesel.

Kia is offering four core trims: HTE, HTK, HTX and GTX along with multiple option packs including Premium, Convenience, ADAS and the more aggressive X-Line styling kit.

Bookings open at midnight on December 11 with prices being announced on January 2, 2026.
