Key highlights
- Kannada language support now live on Ather Rizta Z dashboards via OTA update starting November 1
- Part of Ather’s plan to bring eight Indian languages to its interface
- Update marks Karnataka Rajyotsava, strengthening Ather’s local roots
Here’s something beautifully Indian in the world of electric scooters. Ather Energy has rolled out Kannada language support on the dashboard of its family scooter, the Rizta Z. The update, which goes live over-the-air starting November 1, coincides perfectly with Karnataka Rajyotsava — and it’s a move that feels as emotional as it is innovative.
When language becomes Technology
Earlier this year, Ather revealed its vision to bring eight Indian languages to the Rizta’s interface. After Hindi, Kannada is the second to go live, with Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam set to follow soon.
It’s a simple idea with deep impact letting riders interact with their scooters in the language they think, speak, and dream in.
The update is exclusive to the Rizta Z, Ather’s family-first EV that’s built a reputation for being smart, comfortable, and seriously well-thought-out. With over 1 lakh units already on the road, it’s become the go-to electric scooter for urban families who want practicality without giving up performance or quality.
Rizta Z: Smart, Safe, and Now… Speaking Kannada
The Rizta Z was already loaded with thoughtful touches — a touchscreen dashboard, SkidControl™, Live Location Sharing, Fall Safe™, and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS). Add 56 litres of storage, a wide seat, and a comfortable floorboard, and you get a scooter built with real families in mind.
Now, with Kannada support, everyday usability just gets that much more personal. Riders can navigate menus, view trip stats, and access safety features without having to switch to English. It’s a small update on paper, but a massive step in inclusivity, especially for first-time EV owners who want the tech to feel familiar, not foreign.
