New Triumph 350cc bikes coming next year?
As per the recent media statement, Rajiv Bajaj has hinted at a new sub-350cc segment being under development. However, it was not clarified whether it’ll be Bajaj, KTM, or Triumph to get this new platform. But, we assume that Triumph’s 400cc range is going to be revamped with this new engine.
The question is why? And the answer are the new GST slabs, which have significantly increased the prices of Triumph Speed 400 and the other 400cc bikes. Therefore, the most sensible thing to do is to downsize this range and use the GST benefits.
However, it is being reported online that Triumph will use the current 399cc engine and reduce its bore by 6 mm, which will further downsize the power figures, but make the new bikes more tractable and user friendly at lower rpms.
Considering the fact that Royal Enfield is also largely hit with the GST slabs, it still has the 349cc bikes like the Classic 350, which are now cheaper and still sell in good numbers. The main target for Triumph is to capture that vary segment of buyers with the new 350cc range.
Although the launch timeline has not been revealed yet, we can safely assume that these new bikes will land in India some time around March 2026.
