The latest spotting of the iCar V23 electric SUV hints that JSW Motors is eyeing to launch a variety of products in India. While the introductory product will be the Jetour T2 Hybrid SUV, the iCar V23 will be a pure EV with an AWD option.

The test car was seen with complete camouflage and appeared similar to the international spec model. The iCar V23 boasts a retro boxy design, which mimics the G-Wagon to some extent. Dimensionally, it measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,730 mm, which provides a spacious cabin for five passengers.

Key design elements include the oval-shaped LED headlights, flared fender arches, tailgate-mounted spare wheel, and a solid rear quarter panel. On the inside, it features a retro centre console with silver finished rotary knobs, a vertical dashboard with brushed aluminium finishing, and a three-spoke steering wheel which looks similar to the Range Rover cars.

Powering the iCar V23 are RWD and AWD options. The lower-spec variants come with two battery options: 47 kWh and 60 kWh, offering a maximum power of 135 bhp and 180 Nm. Meanwhile, the top-spec variants come equipped with an 81.7 kWh pack that develops 212 bhp and 290 Nm of power and torque. The latter also gets an AWD option and has a CLTC-claimed range of 501 km.

On the other hand, the expected debut timeline of the company is getting delayed. JSW Motors has been struggling with the strict import policies of the Indian government as it is required to source parts from China to manufacture cars in India, and this is derailing the preset plans of the company.

Meanwhile, the road testing phase of the Jetour T2 and iCar V23 has begun, which indicate that these models are likely to hit the local roads by the end of this year.
