Citroen C3 CNG debuts at Rs 7.16 lakh – 28.1km/kg mileage

Citroen C3 CNG – Engine and specifications

Powering the C3 CNG is the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated motor. However, the CNG bi-fuel connection is an aftermarket fitment at the dealership level, and not an OEM fit.

However, the French carmaker claims that the fitment, quality, and safety of the CNG kit have been approved as per the high-quality standards of the company.

Meanwhile, the CNG kit is a 55-litre equivalent to water capacity, and therefore, the suspension has been retuned to adjust the weight increment.

The CNG kit fitment is only available with the 5-speed manual transmission, and not on the automatic variants. ARAI-claimed mileage is up to 28.1 km/kg, which translates to a real-world range of 180-210 km per tank of CNG.

As the 1.2-litre engine generates 82 bhp and 115 Nm of peak power and torque, we do not suspect any major decrement in the performance with the CNG fuel.
