Kia Sorento SUV: Everything you should know about it
The Sorento SUV will be launched soon in India. It will be offered in a seven-seater version, and its pre-bookings have already commenced. The Sorento is a full-size SUV that features the signature styling cues of the brand, including the ‘Tiger Nose’ design, vertically stacked LED headlights, a subtle bodyline with a sporty rear quarter design, and split LED taillights at the rear.
On the inside, a test mule of the production-spec Sorento was spied recently in India, showing that it will feature a dual-tone cabin with leather upholstery, a four-spoke steering wheel, a curved dual-display, a digital AC control panel with physical buttons, reclining rear seats, Bose Mode, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, electrically adjustable seats with memory feature, electronic parking brake, a rotary knob for gearshifts, and more. It also features a host of ADAS safety features, including the pedestrian safety, high-beam assist, traffic sign recognition, and more.
Online rumours hint Kia will introduce the Sorento with two powertrain options: a 1.6-litre strong hybrid petrol motor that is likely to offer 238 bhp and 380 Nm, and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine sourced from the new Kia Carnival, making 202 bhp and 441 Nm of power and torque.
This will also mark as the entry of Kia in the hybrid cars in India via the Sorento Hybrid variant. Online customer feedback is that the hybrid version can deliver upwards 20 km/l of efficiency, which is remarkable as per the segment standards.
The Sorento will be sold as a CKD model, which means that it will be priced competitively. We expect it to be positioned somewhere around Rs 40 lakh mark.
