Ford Endeavour’s new V6 EcoBoost engine details
While Ford left its India fans midst of nowhere a few years ago, the American carmaker continues to sell its latest products globally. One such popular SUV is the Endeavour, aka Everest, which has been recently unveiled at the Liwa International Festival in the Middle East with an all-new engine specifically made for the Middle Eastern regions.
The MY26 Endeavour receives minor design and interior changes. However, the brand has now added a new variant called Tremor, which offers a rugged Blistein suspension, all-terrain tyres, and a rugged body kit for off-roading.
Meanwhile, the talking point is the new 2.7-litre, four-cylinder, turbo petrol V6 engine, which is called EcoBoost. This engine offers a generous 355 bhp and 500 Nm of peak power and torque, and comes mated to a 10-speed transmission along with the 4WD system.
Ford has revealed that this engine has been specifically made as per the Middle East regional requirements, keeping in mind the extreme weather conditions and the need for off-road performance.
Apart from these changes, the new Endeavour does not feature any major upgrades. The cabin is also similar to the previous iteration, keeping aside the updated features on the top-spec variants.
As far as the Indian market is concerned, there have been rumours of Ford returning to India. The brand also conducted a financial review for its Chennai-based plant to utilise it for EVs, which might be launched in India in the future. However, the progress seems to be still as we see no strong signs of its comeback anytime soon.
