Honda’s official stance
Yogesh Mathur, Director – Sales & Marketing at HMSI, said, “We welcome the Indian government’s GST reform. This initiative improves personal mobility, boosts affordability, and strengthens the entire value chain—from customers to dealers and suppliers”.
He also confirmed that HMSI is evaluating the impact of the new 40% GST slab on premium motorcycles to ensure a balanced approach across its portfolio.
What it means for buyers
With prices dropping across commuter and mid-range models, buyers now get more value without compromising on performance or reliability. Honda’s decision to pass on the full benefit also sets a strong precedent for transparency and customer-first thinking.
The company will run outreach campaigns to help buyers understand the revised pricing and make informed decisions at dealerships.
