Hero and Valeo ARAS technology explained

The latest collaboration between Hero and Valeo is to develop the Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS), which will be based on real-world scenarios and use real-time data to analyse the possibility of risk while riding. One can think of ARAS similar to the ADAS features that we see on modern cars.

As per the details, these systems will include features like Distance Warning (DW), Lane Departure Assist (LA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Rear Collision Warning (RCW). Additionally, the main target is to develop cost-effective technology that can be used on all two-wheelers of the brand, including the commuter bikes like Splendor, and premium EVs like the Vida electric range.

As of now, Hero and Valeo will study and work on the real-life traffic scenarios and the pedestrian threats involved for the two-wheelers in India. The launch timeline of the ARAS is still unknown, but Hero will make sure that this technology becomes path breaking due to its affordability in the mass segment two-wheelers.
