Honda quietly drops Fireblade SP and Rebel from India website

Key highlights

  • Honda has removed the Fireblade SP and Rebel 500 from its official India website
  • Both bikes were sold via the BigWing Topline network as premium CBU imports
  • This move hints at either a temporary pause or a complete model exit from the Indian lineup

Honda has quietly pulled the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP and the Rebel 500 from its India website, and that alone says plenty. There’s been no formal announcement, no teaser for a new model, and no “we’ll be back soon” message. Just a silent disappearing act.

Honda Fireblade SP

The Fireblade SP, Honda’s flagship litre-class superbike, has always been a halo product for the brand. Priced north of INR 23 lakh, it wasn’t a volume seller, but it was a statement, a showpiece that said “we’re still in the game”. Its removal raises eyebrows, especially since the global market has already received the updated 2024 version with revised aerodynamics, electronics, and improved torque delivery.

Honda Rebel 500

The Rebel 500, on the other hand, was Honda’s niche take on the midsize cruiser category. Launched as a CKD import and positioned between the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Kawasaki Vulcan S, it appealed to riders who wanted an accessible, relaxed motorcycle with premium Honda build quality. It’s now off the site, which strongly suggests the company is no longer offering it, at least for now.

What could this mean?

Both bikes were sold through Honda’s BigWing Topline network, which currently sells models like the Gold Wing, Africa Twin, and CB300R. The removal could signal multiple things:

  • Honda may be clearing the decks to introduce updated versions
  • The bikes could be victims of tighter regulations or slow demand
  • Honda may be rethinking its premium strategy for India

There is no official confirmation whether these models will return, but the timing is interesting. Honda has already begun talking about bringing in more premium products and even localizing some larger models.
