Kawasaki India has given its baby Ninja a little festive-season nudge, trimming INR 10,000 off the price tag. The Ninja 300 now costs INR 3.17 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable twin-cylinder sportbikes you can buy in India today.
It’s not a new-gen update, just a smarter price point. And honestly, that’s not a bad thing. The Ninja 300 has been around since 2013, and while it’s no longer the freshest face in the class, it still has a loyal fan base thanks to its buttery-smooth motor and everyday usability.
What’s under the fairing
Nothing changes mechanically, and that’s fine because the package is still solid. You get:
- 296cc parallel-twin engine
- 39 PS at 11,000 rpm and 26.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm
- 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch
- Dual-channel ABS
- Telescopic front forks + monoshock rear
- 17-inch alloys with MRF Zappers
The bike continues to be assembled at Kawasaki’s Chakan plant with a mix of local and imported parts.
Looks and colour choices
Design-wise, it’s still the sharp, faired silhouette that made the Ninja a poster bike for many first-time sportbike buyers. You can pick from:
- Lime Green (Kawasaki’s trademark shade)
- Candy Lime Green (with black highlights)
- Metallic Moondust Grey (for the stealthy types)
Yes, the halogen headlamp and semi-digital console are reminders that this bike belongs to an older era. But if you’re the kind who prefers analog charm over touchscreens, you won’t mind.
Our thoughts
This is Kawasaki keeping the Ninja 300 relevant without tinkering with its DNA. The INR 10,000 cut may not sound like much, but it could be the nudge that pushes undecided buyers into the showroom.
