Lexus RX sales surge 18% in 2025

Key Highlights

  • Lexus RX sales climb 18% (Jan–Sept 2025) vs last year.
  • Contributes to 58% overall SUV growth for Lexus India in September.
  • RX 350h and RX 500h F Sport continue to woo buyers with hybrid power and premium appeal.

The Lexus RX is quietly doing big things for the brand in India. Between January and September 2025, sales for the luxury SUV have jumped 18% compared to the same period last year and September alone brought a massive 38% spike. Clearly, the RX has found its rhythm in a market that’s finally warming up to hybrids with flair.

SUVs now make up over half of Lexus India’s sales, and the RX sits right at the heart of that success story. Alongside the NX and LX, it’s helping Lexus build serious momentum in a segment dominated by European heavyweights. What’s driving that growth? A mix of hybrid efficiency, timeless design, and the kind of craftsmanship that feels personal rather than posh.

Two Variants, Two Personalities

The RX lineup offers two distinct flavours. The RX 350h pairs a 2.5-litre petrol engine with a self-charging hybrid system perfect for those who prefer silent, silky drives and effortless cruising. Then there’s the RX 500h F Sport, which swaps serenity for spirit. It gets a 2.4-litre turbo-hybrid setup, a 6-speed automatic, and an eAxle system that gives it a proper rear-driven feel.

Inside, it’s classic Lexus. Minimalist, beautifully put together, and calm even when the world outside isn’t. The seats feel more like first-class lounge chairs than car upholstery, and the quality touches are everywhere — from the stitched leather to the tactility of the switchgear.

Making Luxury Ownership Smarter

Lexus is also making luxury ownership a little easier to digest with its new Smart Ownership Plan. It’s an assured buyback program that lets buyers enjoy the Lexus experience without committing to the long haul — a clever move for first-time luxury car owners or anyone looking to upgrade every few years.
