Key highlights
- Mahindra rolls out referral program for BE6 and XEV 9e owners with tiered rewards.
- Benefits scale up to 5 years of free general service and multiple enrichment packages.
- Initiative banks on the EV community to fuel word-of-mouth sales.
Mahindra Electric is focussing its next expansion drive on its community. For BE6 and XEV 9e owners, the business has launched a referral scheme that pays them for each friend they persuade to switch to electric vehicles. Mahindra obviously views devoted consumers as the strongest sales pitch, as seen by the more than 20,000 units already on the road and the INR 8,472 crore in bookings made earlier this year.
The idea is simple, refer someone, they buy, and you win. Stack up referrals, and the benefits keep growing.
What’s in the rewards basket
The referral scheme works in three stages:
- First referral: free general service (parts + labour) for 3 years/30,000 km, plus one enrichment package.
- Second referral: free general service for 4 years/40,000 km, plus two enrichment packages.
- Third referral: free general service for 5 years/50,000 km, plus three enrichment packages.
The enrichment kits include detailing, polish, and minor cosmetic upgrades. What’s not covered? Running repairs, unscheduled visits, and non-essential fixes. Mahindra says the program will run for a limited period, so timing matters.
Why it counts
The BE6 and XEV 9e are more than just EVs in Mahindra’s lineup—they’re the flag-bearers of its INGLO skateboard platform, offering up to 683 km certified range, ultra-fast charging, and performance that competes with global rivals. The BE6 Batman Edition’s 135-second sellout proved these cars aren’t just functional, they’re aspirational.
With exports kicking off in Europe, Mahindra is betting that an engaged owner community can amplify the hype further. And this referral program is the nudge they needed.
Our thoughts
Instead of dangling keychains or discount coupons, Mahindra is giving owners real value, free service and useful upgrades. That’s the kind of perk people remember. If I had a BE6 in my driveway, I’d be pitching it to anyone who made eye contact. Three referrals for five years of free service? That’s a no-brainer.
