Mahindra EV sales to hit 7,000 units monthly?

While this might sound a little bit obnoxious to the rivals, Mahindra is planning to scale up its EV production soon. The brand is expecting to produce 8,000 EVs monthly, and hopes to sell 7,000 EVs monthly by the end of this fiscal year, as announced by Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO – Auto and Farm Sectors.

Further, the brand is expecting the electric vehicles to contribute up to 25% in the overall passenger vehicle sales by 2027-28. With that said, the current electric vehicle portfolio of Mahindra includes four models: XEV 9E, XEV 9S, BE 6, and the XUV400.

The newly introduced BE or Born Electric series cars are witnessing high demand, but the XUV400 sales have dipped year-on-year. However, Mahindra plans to update the XUV400 with a possibly new model that is expected to feature a similar design language as the XUV 3XO.
