Mahindra Vision S: What to expect?
The upcoming Vision S test mule was recently seen on a test in Maharashtra. The test car, although camouflaged, was seen loaded with a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, the spy images showcase that it will get a new dashboard design with a new digital console and a new three-spoke steering wheel.
Although Mahindra has not revealed much regarding the Vision S and the other models linked to the NU_IQ platform, we do know that it is based on a monocoque chassis and is likely linked to the Scorpio family due to the ‘S’ suffix in the name.
The Vision S test car boasts a design similar to the Land Rover Defender, although comparing the two would be illogical, but it surely gives the Vision S an attractive stance. The bold shoulder lines, upright stance, and tailgate-mounted spare wheel do give it a proper SUV look.
We are expecting that the Vision S will use the current 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Thar 3-Door. However, this will be retuned for more power and torque. Although it will come with the choices of automatic and manual gearboxes, the 4X4 drivetrain will only be offered on the top-spec trims.
Mahindra is yet to announce the exact launch timeline, but our assumption and industry sources say that it will debut in early 2027. Expect it to be positioned below the Scorpio N and above the Scorpio Classic.
