New variants and battery options
Currently, the XEV 9e is available in four trims—Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three. The first three variants come with a 59 kWh battery, while the top-end Pack Three gets a 79 kWh battery.
The upcoming lineup will introduce:
- Pack One 59 kWh
- Pack Two 59 kWh
- Pack Three 59 kWh
- Pack Three Select 59 kWh
- Pack Three 79 kWh
- Pack Three Select 79 kWh
These additions will allow buyers to opt for a fully loaded variant with a smaller battery or choose a lower trim with a larger battery pack. Prices for the upcoming trims have not been revealed yet.
Expected pricing and market impact
The current XEV 9e lineup starts at INR 21.90 lakh and goes up to INR 30.50 lakh (ex-showroom). With the introduction of smaller battery variants, Mahindra is expected to reduce the entry price, making the SUV more competitive against rivals like the Tata Harrier EV and BYD Sealion 7.

The 59 kWh battery variants generate 228 bhp and 380 Nm, offering a claimed range of 542 km. Meanwhile, the 79 kWh models produce 282 bhp and 380 Nm, with a range of 656 km.
Mahindra’s feature-rich approach remains intact, with the XEV 9e offering:
- Three 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and driver display.
- VisionX Augmented Reality HUD and MAIA AI architecture.
- Level 2+ ADAS, 360-degree camera, and seven airbags.
- Infinity glass roof with dynamic lighting.
