Maruti Suzuki True Value celebrates 25 years with 65 lakh pre-owned car sales

Key highlights

  • Maruti Suzuki True Value has served over 65 lakh customers since entering India’s pre-owned car market in 2001.
  • The certified used-car network spans 662 outlets across 338 cities.
  • Services include vehicle evaluation, documentation and service history verification, warranty support and digital financing.

Maruti Suzuki True Value has completed 25 years in India’s pre-owned car market, marking the milestone with over 65 lakh customers served since its launch in 2001. The company’s organised used-car retail business focuses on certified vehicles, verified histories and structured evaluation processes.

The milestone comes as pre-owned cars continue to offer buyers an alternative to new vehicles, particularly those looking for personal mobility at a lower entry cost. True Value has built its business around standardised vehicle checks, certification and warranty support, practices that Maruti Suzuki says have helped establish benchmarks in the segment.

More touchpoints

True Value currently operates through 662 outlets across 338 cities. According to Maruti Suzuki, its retail experience combines digital integration with showroom-style customer service, aiming to make buying a used car more structured and transparent.

The company says its evaluation process includes checking vehicle documentation and service history. These checks are intended to give buyers greater confidence in a used car’s background, while certification and warranty policies provide additional purchase assurance.

For sellers, True Value offers a technology-enabled evaluation process designed to establish a vehicle’s market value. The platform aims to serve both sides of the transaction, rather than focusing exclusively on retailing pre-owned cars.

Digital financing expands access

Financing has become an important part of the pre-owned car buying process, according to Maruti Suzuki. Through Maruti Suzuki Smart Finance, True Value customers can access financing options from participating public and private sector banks and non-banking financial companies on a digitised platform.

The company also says the share of young, first-time buyers among True Value customers is increasing, reflecting the role of used cars in making vehicle ownership more accessible. However, it has not disclosed a specific percentage or detailed customer data to quantify this trend.
