Everything you need to know about the Matter AIDV

Matter has announced that it will move to an evolved version of the SDV or Software-Defined Vehicle platform, which we see on the Matter AERA motorcycle. This new platform is called AIDV, or Artificial Intelligence Defined Vehicle platform, and it is essentially a software-related upgrade, rather than a complete overhaul of the SDV.

As per the details, the new AIDV system focuses on the core computing, which includes the real-time battery management, real-time power and torque distribution, and managing the core controller functions. It is a self-learning technology that reads the behaviour of the rider and adjusts the core functions for optimum performance.

Moreover, the integration of artificial intelligence helps in the preventive maintenance, which it does by predicting potential faults and managing the optimum battery health and ageing to prevent a drop in the performance of the EV.

In addition to the above tech announcement, Matter also revealed that it will launch five new electric vehicle types based on the AIDV platform. These include the ADVs, naked street motorcycles, streetfighter motorcycles, youth-focused commuter motorcycles, and electric scooters. These products will be introduced in the next 36-48 months.
