Mercedes-Benz India has introduced a limited-run EQS 580 4MATIC ‘Celebration Edition’, a model that builds upon the brand’s most advanced electric offering. With just 50 units on sale at INR 1.30 crore (ex-showroom), this variant celebrates both the success of the EQS in India and the brand’s growing footprint in the country’s premium EV space.
The EQS 580 ‘Celebration Edition’ gets upgrades targeted squarely at those who spend more time in the back seat. That includes multi-contour rear seats with massage, ventilation and lumbar support, a chauffeur package with electronically tiltable front seats, and executive seats that recline up to 38 degrees. Also new are illuminated designer seatbelt buckles and full Nappa leather interiors for that extra touch of opulence.
EQS 580 key specs and performance
Under the sculpted skin, things remain familiar. The EQS 580 4MATIC continues to use a 107.8 kWh battery that delivers up to 813 km (ARAI) on a full charge. Power output is rated at 400 kW with 858 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in 4.3 seconds. The all-wheel-drive setup and AIRMATIC suspension system ensure the EQS handles as confidently as it glides.
The car also features rear-axle steering (standard 4.5°, upgradeable to 10°), and the MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation system—merging live video with graphics to ease navigation through complex intersections.
Boutique expansion: The Atelier Experience
Alongside the product reveal, Mercedes-Benz also inaugurated its latest boutique luxury showroom—the ‘Atelier Experience’ in Adyar, Chennai. This joins similar high-end touchpoints like the Maybach Lounge (Hyderabad), G-Class Lounge (Delhi), and Atelier Mumbai.
The new experience centre offers curated consultations with product experts and the ability to configure vehicles using real materials and digital configurators under the MANUFAKTUR personalization program. It’s a blend of physical and digital—“physi-digital”—aimed at high-end customers.
Mercedes-Benz has already opened 11 new luxury outlets this year, with 19 more in the pipeline, targeting not just metros but mini-metros like Kanpur and Udaipur.
Final thoughts
With the Celebration Edition EQS and its ever-growing showroom footprint, Mercedes-Benz seems to be saying: “Yes, EVs can be luxurious, and no, we’re not waiting around.” Also, anyone else slightly envious of the person whose seat reclines more than your office chair and massages while driving through bumper-to-bumper traffic?
