JSW MG India has confirmed that its next launch is going to be the IM6 electric crossover SUV, which is likely to be positioned as a Tesla Model Y competitor in India. Read below everything we know so far about the upcoming IM6 EV.

MG IM6: Everything we know so far about it
A latest online report claims that the JSW MG IM6 will be launched in India in August 2026. This premium electric crossover SUV will be sold only via the MG Select dealerships.
MG has already showcased the IMG6 in India at the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025. The EV garnered high customer interest and a lot of audience, hence, after the evaluation, the brand is now ready to launch it in India.
The IM6 boasts a sculpted design language with a chiselled bonnet and a sloping roofline. The front fascia has stretched-out LED headlights, a closed grille design, and a protruding bumper with a sleeker lower grille. At the back, it features a ducktail boot with a connected LED light setup.
On the inside, it features a light-themed cabin draped in leather upholstery, and offering features like a connected screen display, a touchscreen AC panel, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, AI-assisted voice commands, and more. It will also get the Level 2 ADAS safety features.
Powering the global-spec IM6 are two powertrain options:
- RWD – 401bhp, 500Nm, 625km range
- AWD – 741bhp, 802Nm, 505km range
The IM6 will be offered in Arctic White, Black Pearl Metallic, Nevis Blue Metallic, and Rembrandt Grey Metallic exterior colour options.
