What to expect from the MG Majestor?
MG showcased the pre-production Majestor SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025. The brand is now set to launch it in India on February 12. Ahead of the launch, a test mule was spotted during a mild off-road test.
The Majestor is heavily inspired by the Maxus D90 SUV, which is popular in Saudi Arabia and the Chinese markets. In fact, the prototype showcased in India was also similar to the D90, but features design changes like sharp LED lights, a big horizontal slat grille, a connected LED taillight, and rugged body cladding.
MG targets it to position above the Gloster, and both SUVs will remain on sale side-by-side. The Majestor will focus on the interior comfort, luxury, and performance factors. Hence, its cabin design is likely to feature high-grade materials, glossy panels, premium leather upholstery, and advanced tech like wireless connectivity, panoramic sunroof, and more.
Since MG is known to equip its cars with loads of tech, the Majestor will debut with class-leading safety features as well. We believe it will get the updated ADAS safety suite, similar to the MG’s international models.
Powering the Majestor will be the tried and tested Stellantis-sourced 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. It will be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and offer the off-roading features like 4WD, electronically-locking differentials, and more.
The new Majestor is likely to be positioned against the Toyota Fortuner Legender, and it will be priced in a similar bracket of Rs 50-55 lakh.
