The Windsor EV, which was introduced last year in October, became an instant hit among first-time EV buyers. Positioned from an aggressive Rs 9.99 lakh mark, Windsor immediately received a strong response from new buyers as it crossed 10,000 sales within its first month of launch.

While this number gradually decreased, the crossover EV has managed to average 4,000 units monthly, which is a big win for the brand as it is beating ICE rivals like the Skoda Kushaq. So, what makes it popular?

The first reason is its big and comfortable cabin space. It gets 135-degree reclining seats and a sofa-like rear bench, which is loved by chauffeur-driven customers. Additionally, it gets segment-first features like a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, rear-seat recline, panoramic sunroof, and more, which add to its luxury quotient.

Meanwhile, adding to its comfortable appeal is its aggressive pricing, which is due to the BaaS or Battery-as-a-Service plan. Customers can buy the base variant Windsor at just Rs 9.99 lakh and pay Rs 3.9/km, which adds to its flexibility and boosts the confidence of new buyers by making it more affordable.

Additionally, MG’s outstanding after-sales support has been top-notch in fetching new customers pan-India. The Windsor EV is offered with two battery packs: 38 kWh with 332 km range and a 52.9 kWh with 449 km range. Both variants offer 134 bhp and 200 Nm.
