Montra Rhino electric truck: Every detail explained
Montra, an electric vehicle subsidiary of the Murugappa Group’s TI Clean Mobility, has introduced its new electric truck, called Rhino 5538 EV 4×2 TT. The starting price of the fixed battery version of this truck is Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom).
Speaking of the details, the new Rhino 5538 e-truck features battery swapping technology. According to the company, it only takes 6 minutes to swap the battery, which saves a massive amount of time compared to charging it at a charging station. Moreover, it can be swapped up to 160 times in a day, making it feasible for transport use.
The Rhino EV features a robust chassis frame, which is mated to the 4×4 drivetrain and a 282 kWh LFP battery pack. With this combination, it produces 380 bhp of peak power and a massive 2,000 Nm of peak torque. This drivetrain is paired with a 6-speed AMT transmission, which features low-ratio gears for enhanced drivability under load conditions.
Inside the cabin, it is equipped with modern creature comfort features, including power steering, a semi-digital console, a music system, an AC and heater, power windows, etc.
Along with the Rhino electric truck, Montra has also launched India’s first women-operated Automated Battery Plant in Manesar, Haryana. This completely automated production facility is operated 100% by women staff.
