New-gen Suzuki Gixxer: What do we know so far?
Suzuki two-wheelers is finally going to give its Gixxer 150 and 250 models a fresh life. An online report has revealed that the brand is working on a new platform that will offer a major mechanical and design overhaul.
The current Gixxer 150 and 250 models, which constitute naked and semi-faired models, are not doing great in sales. Part of this goes to their old design and outdated features, which Suzuki intends to change with the new platform.
The source has revealed that the Gixxer 150 and the 150 SF are codenamed XF181 and XF191, respectively. Meanwhile, the Gixxer 250 and the 250 SF are codenamed XF1C1 and XF1D1 internally.
Although not much is known about the updated platform, we firmly believe that Suzuki will redesign these models and work on the performance part. Meanwhile, the features list on all four bikes will witness a major rework, so that these remain competitive against the new rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the upcoming Yamaha R2.
As far as the launch timeline is concerned, the exact details are yet to be determined, but the report hints that these bikes are slated for the Q4 2026 debut in India. With the new design and feature updates, the prices are surely going to witness a hike.
