The new-gen VF8 electric crossover has been revealed for the US and Vietnamese car markets. VinFast has heavily updated the new VF8 with modern design, new features, and a smaller battery pack that offers better performance.

On the design front, it now features a new overall shape with the front now offering a set of new LED headlamps and new segmented LED DRLs. The front bumper has been redesigned with sharp bits, featuring a closed front grille, and a lower grille with air dams on the side for aerodynamic flow.

The side profile now features a sloping roofline, a bold shoulder line, and new dual-tone aerodynamic alloy wheels. At the rear, the car now features a set of redesigned connected LED taillights with an illuminated VinFast logo in the centre.

Interestingly, the new VF8 is smaller than the outgoing model. The wheelbase has reduced by 100 mm as compared to the outgoing model. Meanwhile, it measures 4,701 mm in length, placing it in the same category as the Mahindra XEV 9E.

The cabin has also undergone a big change. It now pcaks a new steering wheel, a 12.9-inch digital driver cluster, a big 15.6-inch floating-type infotainment screen, and more features like the powered front seats with ventilation, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, etc. VinFast has also moved the gear selector buttons from the centre console to offer more storage space.

While the platform of the car is unaltered, VinFast now offers a smaller battery pack of 60.13 kWh. However, this battery offers 228 bhp and 330 Nm, thus offering 27 bhp and 20 Nm more than the outgoing model. The VF8 is a front-wheel drive car with 500 km of NEDC-approved range.

While the VF8 is currently going to be launched in the global market only, we can not deny its India launch possibility, especially after seeing the brand expand in India consistently with new products like the Limo Green.
