Triumph Speed 400 gets the 350cc engine: All details
The 2026 Speed 400 has finally received the much-anticipated 350cc downsized engine. Bajaj’s latest move of downsizing the Triumph’s 400cc range comes after the government of India had imposed 40% GST on two-wheelers with engines above 350cc.
Speaking of the biggest update, the new 350cc engine remains a single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit. However, it now gets a shorter stroke of 56.1mm, as opposed to the 64mm on the 400cc model. Thus, the bike is now more efficient and peppy at the lower rev range.
In terms of performance, there is no major drop. The top speed is rated at 147 km/h, which is just 1.7 km/h less than the 400cc model. Meanwhile, the maximum output is rated at 37 PS and 32 Nm, which makes it 3 PS and 5.5 Nm less than the 400cc iteration.
Triumph has not altered the chassis or the mechanical setup of the new 350cc Speed 400. Moreover, it looks exactly the same as before, and the 400 badge also remains as it is due to the brand’s marketing strategy and the global nomenclature of the products.
The new Speed 400 is now available pan-India at Rs 2,31,890, as opposed to Rs 2,39,140 for the 400cc model. The on-road price difference between both models is Rs 17,353.
