Triumph is preparing a major update to its middleweight adventure motorcycle range. The next-generation Tiger 900 will make its global debut on December 15, 2026, bringing upgrades to the engine, chassis, rider technology and connectivity.
The new Tiger 900 will be the final motorcycle in Triumph’s four-model rollout of updated products. The larger Tiger 1200 is scheduled to debut earlier, on October 27.
More power from the three-cylinder engine
Triumph has confirmed that the new Tiger 900 will be more powerful and more refined, although it has not revealed the complete specifications yet. It is also unclear whether the motorcycle will continue with the existing 888 cc engine or receive an increase in displacement.
The current India-spec Tiger 900 uses an 888 cc liquid-cooled T-Plane three-cylinder engine producing 106 bhp. Its unusual 1-3-2 firing order is designed to combine low-rpm tractability with stronger performance higher up the rev range.
Chassis and technology get an overhaul
The engine isn’t the only area receiving attention. Triumph has confirmed an upgraded chassis, along with improvements to rider technology and next-generation connectivity.
Earlier test prototypes have already indicated more substantial changes underneath the familiar adventure-bike silhouette. A redesigned subframe and changes to the swingarm were visible on development motorcycles, while the GT-spec prototype was seen with a 19-inch front wheel.
The new motorcycle is therefore expected to bring more than just an engine update, although Triumph is keeping the finer details under wraps for now.
India launch likely in 2027
Triumph has not announced an India launch date yet. However, considering the Tiger 900’s existing presence in the Indian market, an introduction here is expected after the global debut.
A first-half 2027 India launch appears to be the more realistic timeline, depending on the international rollout.
