New-gen Bajaj Chetak electric scooter: What to expect?
As seen in the latest spy shots, the completely camouflaged test mule of the upcoming gen Chetak EV shows the new design changes. The front of the new Chetak now features the LED turn signals on the headlight cowl, which have been moved from the front apron.
Similarly, the front apron also gets a new design with a revamped outlook. The Chetak logo has been replaced by the lettering, while the round LED headlight remains unaltered. The front wheel now features a telescopic suspension cover.
Moving to the side, it now gets a flatter seat and redesigned side panels. However, the overall silhouette looks unchanged, but we assume that it will feature new graphics, colours, or new Chetak lettering on these panels.
The biggest change is seen at the rear, where the EV gets a new, sharper LED taillight with integrated turn signals. Additionally, it has a new rear tyre hugger and a redesigned number plate holder.
The upcoming e-scooter is also seen with a hub-mounted motor, something that the current-gen scooter does not have. Chetak is likely to carry the metal body panels, which have been its forte in sales.
Other notable highlights include the LCD console, a manual key slot, and fewer features as compared to the top-spec variant of the current model. This indicates that the test mule seen here is a mid-spec.
Battery and power figures are likely to remain unchanged. But the new-gen will surely get more range. The current model’s 3kWh and 3.5kWh battery options shall be offered with a maximum range of up to 150 km.
Bajaj is likely to introduce the new-gen Chetak e-scooter in the first quarter of 2026. The prices will be hiked for sure due to the new features and improved design.
