Renault Rafale spied in India, launch possible?
The latest spotting of the Rafale SUV has raised the eyebrows of auto enthusiasts in India. The coupe-SUV was recently seen in traffic in the beautiful blue paint shade, without any cover.
However, since the car had no TC plates, we are unsure whether it is a test unit or a private import. It is possible that Renault has brought a few units to India for component testing or to assess its feasibility in the Indian market.
Speaking of the Rafale, it features a sloping roofline design with striking front and back shapes that are dominated by the sporty bumpers and sharp LED lights. Complementing its exterior design are its driver-centric interiors that offer a connected screen panel and sporty driving aesthetics.
Meanwhile, the most interesting bit is its 1.2-litre E-Tech Hybrid powertrain, which offers a plug-in hybrid power mode that can deliver up to 105 km of pure electric range. Meanwhile, it comes loaded with dual electric motors, each on the front and rear axles, enabling 4X4 and 4X2 options along with the four-wheel steering system.
With that said, the Rafale is positioned against the Audi Q3 Sportback and the BMW X2 in the global market. We are not sure whether it will be launched in India or not, as the brand remains mum over its domestic introduction.
