New Simple Energy family scooter – What to expect?
The latest design patent by Simple Energy shows a conventional family-style scooter. This unnamed scooter is expected to be placed below the One series, which is the flagship scooter of the company.
Whilst the Bengaluru-based EV maker is struggling to deliver the promised scooters nationwide, it continues its R&D for the new models. Not long ago, the brand acquired new funding to operate and develop further models.
Speaking of the homologated model, it features a spacious design with a long single seat, which appears wide enough to accommodate a small family. Moreover, it has a conventional front apron with twin-pod headlights and basic hardware like telescopic front suspension, alloy wheels, a wide footboard area, and a small grab handle-integrated pillion backrest.
While not much is known about this unnamed model, we suspect it to be an affordable e-scooter that is likely to be positioned against rivals like the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak. Lately, the affordable electric scooters have been doing good sales numbers, which is pushing the EV manufacturers to make affordable models.
Powering this new e-scooter could be the lower-spec battery packs from the One e-scooter, thus delivering range of around 100-150 km. The exact launch timeline of this e-scooter is unknown, but we suspect that it will be introduced by the end of this year.
