Key highlights

  • New Kylaq Sportline priced from Rs 11.32 lakh
  • Gets blacked-out styling, 17-inch alloys and sportier cabin
  • Available with 1.0 TSI engine and both manual and automatic gearboxes

Skoda Auto India has added a new Sportline variant to the Kylaq lineup, giving its best-selling SUV a sportier look without changing its core mechanical package.

The Kylaq Sportline is the seventh variant in the range and is priced from Rs 11.32 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Blacked-out styling

The Sportline gets a number of cosmetic changes to give it a more aggressive appearance. It features Deep Black ORVMs, Gloss Black front and rear diffusers, a Deep Black dual-tone floating roof and 17-inch black alloy wheels. The tailgate also gets black branding, while a Sportline badge, rear spoiler with finlets and C-pillar Sportline sticker complete the look.

The front also gets LED projector lamps, adding to the sharper appearance. For buyers who want even more visual drama, Skoda is offering a dedicated Sportline Accessories Pack. It includes a front bumper corner garnish, dark chrome grille garnish, fender garnish with the Skoda logo and glossy black body-side moulding.

Sportier cabin

The black theme continues inside. The roof, dashboard and door trims get a darker treatment, while the leatherette seats feature Sportline branding on the headrests and contrast stitching.

Equipment includes aluminium pedals, ambient lighting, wireless charging, an electric sunroof, Climatronic Auto AC, a 25.6cm touchscreen infotainment system and a 20.32cm Virtual Cockpit.

The Sportline is powered by Skoda’s 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The new variant is priced as follows:

Ex-showroom price

Kylaq Sportline 1.0 TSI MT

Rs 11.32 lakh

Kylaq Sportline 1.0 TSI AT

Skoda has also used the Sportline update to add more equipment to the lower variants. The Classic and Classic+ trims now get features such as Climatronic Auto AC and a rear defogger.

Safety remains a strong point, with the Kylaq continuing to offer its 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and six airbags across the range.

The Kylaq Sportline, then, isn’t about adding more power. It is about making Skoda’s compact SUV look a little more exciting without messing with the formula that already seems to be working.
