Triumph Trident 800: What to expect?

Triumph Trident 800

The upcoming Trident 800 test mule has been recently seen testing on a closed track, which we suspect is at Triumph’s UK-based facility. The test bike looks impeccably similar to the smaller Trident 660, but the bigger engine and chunkier tyres give away that it is something big.

The Trident 800, or whatever the brand will name it, is suspected to be based on the Tiger Sport 800. Therefore, we can safely assume that it will be using the 798cc, inline-three engine, which makes 113 bhp and 84 Nm of power and torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The photos hint at a similar outlook as the Trident 660. It gets the retro round headlight design, a teardrop fuel tank, a committed and upright riding posture, a short tail, and a single-sided exhaust.

While more details are awaited, we are assuming that Triumph is likely going to debut it next year, probably at the EICMA 2026. However, it will be interesting to see how the Trident 800 will be positioned against the RS 765.
