Tata Motors’ flagship electric SUV, the Harrier.ev, has earned a 5-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for building safe vehicles. The Harrier.ev scored 32 out of 32 points in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 points in child occupant protection (COP), making it one of the safest EVs on Indian roads2.
This result mirrors the performance of its closest rival, the Mahindra XEV 9e, which also achieved identical scores earlier this year.
Harrier.ev crash test results: Full marks where it matters
In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Harrier.ev provided ‘good’ protection to all critical body regions of both driver and passenger. It also scored full marks in the side movable deformable barrier test, with strong structural integrity and minimal intrusion.
For child safety, the SUV aced the dynamic crash test (24/24) and CRS installation test (12/12). It lost minor points in the vehicle assessment test (9/13), but still secured a strong overall COP score.
Harrier.ev safety features: Loaded from the ground up
The Harrier.ev comes equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including:
