Tata Motors September sales data evaluated
As per the car sales data released on the Vahan portal, Tata Motors has become the second-best-selling car manufacturer in India after defeating Mahindra. With a total of 40,068 units sold in September 2025, Tata has pushed Mahindra to the third position, which managed to sell 37,451 units.
Meanwhile, the top position is owned by Maruti Suzuki, as it sold 1,22,785 units. Speaking of Tata, the brand sold 59,667 units in the domestic wholesales in September 2025. Additionally, the electric vehicles registered a massive 96% year-on-year growth as 9,191 units of EVs were sold. Meanwhile, the CNG vehicle sales included 17,800 units for the month.
Speaking of the star product, the Nexon has achieved the highest-ever sales since its launch. A primary reason behind this sales bump for Tata is the new GST rates. The price cuts on models like the Nexon have pushed bookings by the end of September, which has eventually led to high sales.
The upcoming Tata cars include the Sierra SUV, which is expected to debut by late 2025.
