On World EV Day 2025, Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEML) inaugurated India’s largest TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub in Mumbai. The facility, strategically positioned near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, marks the first co-branded charging hub by the two Tata Group companies.
Fast-charging at scale
The hub features eight fast DC chargers with outputs up to 120 kW, supporting simultaneous charging for 16 EVs. This large-scale setup reduces waiting times, a common issue at high-demand charging stations. It is designed to serve a broad mix of users—private car owners, ride-hailing fleets, taxis, and logistics operators.
Green power and accessibility
What sets this hub apart is its reliance on 100% renewable energy. Open 24/7, the station aligns with Tata Power’s ‘Sustainable is Attainable’ initiative. Users can access services through the Tata Power EZ Charge app, which already has over four lakh registered users, while TATA.ev owners will soon be able to connect via the iRA.ev app.
Benefits for TATA.ev owners
While the hub is open to all EV users, TATA.ev customers get added advantages such as priority access and discounts of up to 25%. The collaboration signals Tata Motors’ intent to strengthen both its EV lineup and the supporting infrastructure ecosystem.
Broader network and future plans
This launch builds on Tata Power’s network of over 5,500 public and captive charging points across 630+ cities. In Mumbai alone, the company has more than 1,000 charging points. By 2030, Tata Power aims to expand to 10,000 public chargers and 7.5 lakh home charging units nationwide.
