Key highlights
- Tesla opens new charging station at Nexus Seawoods, Navi Mumbai
- Site includes 4 V4 Superchargers and 4 destination chargers
- Model Y can add up to 275 km range in just 15 minutes
Tesla has launched its newest charging station at Nexus Seawoods in Navi Mumbai. This is also its first in-mall charging location in India.
Charging while you shop, eat or just hang out
The new station sits in the B1 parking area of the mall and offers a total of eight chargers. You get four V4 Superchargers with peak charging speeds of up to 250 kW. Alongside that, there are four AC destination chargers rated at 11 kW.
Fast DC chargers are great when you are in a hurry. AC chargers work better when you plan to spend some time at the mall. Tesla is clearly covering both use cases here.
And honestly, this is how charging infrastructure should feel, something that fits into your routine.
Real-world performance sounds promising
Tesla claims that a Tesla Model Y can add up to 275 km of range in just 15 minutes using these Superchargers. That is not a small number. It basically means you can plug in, grab a coffee, maybe scroll through your phone, and walk back to a car that is ready for a Pune run.
The company also highlights a 99.95 percent uptime, which is just as important as speed. Fast charging is useless if the charger is not working.
Everything runs through the app
Like most things Tesla, the experience is tightly integrated with its app. Owners can navigate to the charger, check availability, precondition the battery, monitor charging progress, and even complete payments through the app.
With this addition, Tesla now operates four charging locations across India. These include sites in Gurugram, Delhi, Mumbai, and now Navi Mumbai. In total, the network includes 20 Superchargers and 14 destination chargers.
Tesla wants to place chargers where people already spend time. Malls, highways, and popular urban spots. That approach could make a big difference in how people perceive EV ownership.
Tesla has also set up a pop-up store at Nexus Seawoods. Visitors can explore the cars, get guided walkthroughs, and even book test drives. It is a smart way to combine infrastructure with customer engagement.
