Honda Cars India has officially added a new exterior colour to the 3rd-generation Amaze dubbed Crystal Black Pearl. This marks the first time the compact sedan is available in a full black shade, and it’s already turning heads. The new colour joins the existing palette of six shades and is available across all three trims: V, VX, and ZX.
The move comes just ahead of the festive season and is clearly aimed at younger buyers who want their car to look sharp, sporty, and a little bit rebellious.
What’s new and what’s not
Let’s be clear: this is a cosmetic update. Mechanically, the Amaze remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine that produces 90 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox.
Fuel efficiency figures remain solid:
- Manual: 18.65 km/l
- CVT: 19.46 km/l
The feature list also stays intact, which means you still get:
- LED projector headlamps and DRLs
- Wing-shaped LED tail lamps
- 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels
- 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Honda Sensing Level-2 ADAS suite (VX and ZX trims)
- Six airbags, VSA, hill start assist, and traction control
Why black?
According to Honda, the decision to introduce Crystal Black Pearl was driven by rising demand for darker shades and the popularity of “black editions” across rival brands. The new colour adds a premium vibe and enhances the sedan’s road presence. It’s bold, it’s elegant, and it’s designed to appeal to first-time buyers and young professionals who want their car to stand out.
